Qynergy provides research and development services in a variety of technical disciplines. We have over 1,000 square feet of laboratory space specifically designed for engineering, manufacturing, integration and testing. Qynergy has significant technical expertise in the areas of betavoltaics, batteries, ultracapacitors and other hybrid power sources. This expertise includes fundamental knowledge of various battery & ultracapacitor chemistries, semiconductor materials science and device growth & processing, metallurgy, and charging & power conversion circuitry. Our battery and capacitor test capabilities include two Maccor state-of-the-art, fully automated battery cycling systems, two environmental chambers capable of temperatures down to -65C, and four ovens capable of temperatures > 200ºC.
Qynergy personnel have a broad background in electronics including instrumentation, embedded control and data acquisition. We design analog and digital electronics and layout, prototype and troubleshoot printed circuit boards. Qynergy provides semiconductor device design, fabrication process and application development. We have expertise with Si as well as compound semiconductors such as GaAs, InP, SiC, and GaN and can model and simulate their complex interactions. Qynergy personnel are well versed in SPICE, MATLAB, and LabView as well as the Los Alamos-developed Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) code for the simulation of nuclear processes and particle interactions involving neutrons, photons, and electrons.
